Popular Techniques Used in Off Page Search Engine Optimization

In striving to achieve the strongest possible web presence, off page search engine optimization can be equally as important as using standard on page methods. Interestingly, webmasters continue to debate over which method brings more success. This is a brief discussion on the most popular off page SEO tactics which may be utilized for strengthening search engine rank.

    Links

In a nutshell…off page search optimization involves building inbound back links. In the eyes of a search engine, each link is regarded as a ‘vote’ for your site. Thus, the more votes you accumulate, the better. However the all important factor here is the ‘page rank’ of the sources that you are linking from. Therefore the key element within off page SEO is not so much how many votes you have, but who is voting for you.

    Techniques

It is good practice to build a wide variety of highly reputable links, using some of the following techniques:

Article Marketing is a very popular method as we live in an age of information, and people enjoy a good read. Ezine, Go Articles, and Buzzle are examples of such submission sites.

Blogs and Forums are important back link sources as they are updated regularly with fresh content, and so readers are inclined to check back on them frequently. Just search for sites related to your niche and post helpful entries with a link back to your website.

Social Media sites are red hot and are continuously on the rise. MPs now ‘tweeting’ in British Parliament is testament to this. Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace are among the big guns.

Other techniques include Directory Submission, Social Bookmarking, Reciprocal Linking, Video Marketing, Pay Per Click campaigns, RSS Feeds, and Press Releases…to name a few.

    Strategy

A smart first step in any off page search engine optimization venture is to develop a list of reputable sources with the highest page rank (0-10) – with a view to linking from them.

The off page SEO link building process acts like a spider’s web, with your website at the centre. There is automated software and paid back link building services available, but these ‘black hat’ methods should be avoided. A natural and organic strategy is more advisable, as search engine algorithms are becoming increasingly more intelligent. It is therefore preferable to befriend search engine indexing robots, rather than trying to deceive them.

    Good Luck!

KEYWORDS – ‘off page seo’ (3 times)…..’off page search engine optimization’ (3 times)

Nice article regarding the basic of SEO, please share something regarding the Google Analytics also.

    GMAT Practice Round 7?

Posted by admin on January 31st, 2012 and filed under increase social media presence | 1 Comment »

The following appeared in a memorandum from the business department of the Apogee Company.

“When the Apogee Company had all its operations in one location, it was more profitable than it is today. Therefore, the Apogee Company should close down its
field offices and conduct all its operations from a single location. Such centralization would improve profitability by cutting costs and helping the company maintain better supervision of all employees.”

    Discuss how well reasoned… etc.

Apogee Company believes that centralizing its operations in a single location results in better profitability than branching out its presence multiple locations. Apogee’s main argument behind this lies with two factors: by centralizing all of its operations business in one location, Apogee can (1) cut costs and (2) maintain better supervision of all employees. However, empirical evidences show that centralizing a company’s operations in a single location is not always profitable. In fact, we see in the United States that many companies who has most or all of their business operations in a single location is continuously losing profit and can no longer compete against offshore outsourcing competitors.

General Motors is one great example that shows how a predominant company can quickly lose its profit and increase costs compared to its competitors by centralizing its operations unit in a single location. Still having most of its manufacturing plants in Detroit, Michigan, General Motors truly centralized most, if not all of its operations business in Detroit Michigan. While, its competitors diversified their operations by outsourcing manufacturing business, General Motors, continues to operate its plants in the United States. Each consecutive years, General Motors’ profit goes down, not mainly due to its weak revenue, but from its high operating costs in the United States. General Motors’ example clearly shows how an extreme centralization can lead to increased cost and lowered profit in a company.

Apogee also believes that centralizing its operations business in a one location can lead to better supervision of all Apogee employees. However, companies like Google have taught us that a company does not have to have a single operations hub to effectively supervise its employees. Google does not require fixed 9-5 working hours for its employees. In fact, Google also does not require its employees to even show up to a company. As long as the employees finish their jobs under a deadline and effectively communicate within the organization, Google allows employees to work from anywhere at any time. Because of such policy, Google has been named as the best company to work for in the United States, and incentive-tized its employees to work hard and succeed under less pressure. As a result, Google saw huge expansion in Android and social media market under effective employees, who were under flexible, yet diversified operating units.

Apogee’s main concern of centralizing all of its operating units in a single location will seriously harm Apogee’s profit forecast if the company continues to believe centralizing will cut costs and lead to a better supervision of employees. Instead, Apogee must look at cheaper outsourcing methods to cut costs, and a ways to boost employees work performance and communications through incentives.

man your essay improved a lot from last time.

very strong logic flow, dont really see any grammar mistakes by skimming (although incentive stuffs sounded bit awkward)

    keep up the good work!
